Thonny is an IDE that is open source and free to use. It is specifically designed for beginners in programming. It is a user-friendly software where the you don’t have to make a lot of complex configurations before starting to write code.
Thonny comes with a version of python (v3.1) that is active when you use Thonny. That means you don’t have to install python seperatly if you don’t want to. But if you want to, you can use Thonny with different versions of python.
Except having an accessible design, Thonny also has a debugger that can help the user understand what is happening when you run the code. The debugger can show step-by-step what is happening. There is also a way to see what values are stored in the variables being used.
